PARIS, Oct. 28 (Reuters) - General health (GDSF.PA: Quote) on Thursday issued a profit
operating income increased over the first nine months of the year thanks to the
reform of business tax, despite a downturn in sales, affected by
assignments.
Current operating income totaled 80.6 million euros, up 5.2%
over the same period of 2009, some 16 million euros from the reform
business tax offsetting the shortfall of 13 million euros from
effects of perimeters.
The turnover of the clinic group shows a decline of 5.4% to 1428.7 million
euros, mainly due to disposals made in December 2009 and February 2010
through the refocusing of its activities.

Net income more than tripled over the first nine months of the year, reaching
44.9 million, due to the gain on the sale of the life sciences division in France in the group.
Without this transfer, it would amount to 14.8 million euros, compared with 13.9 million at the
same period in 2009.
General health has also said in a statement that the acquisition announced early
October of the private hospital in Marne-la-Vallee would impact its consolidated fourth
quarter.
